Champagne is fantastic! It tastes good. It makes you feel good. Refreshing bubbles are always fun – it’s even fun to open! I love that loud distinct POP of a bottle of bubbly being opened – it’s a signal that good times are ahead!
(FYI: I usually use the term champagne for sparkling wine in general. It’s just easier that way.)
I’ve also heard that champagne can help prevent dementia, memory loss and even breakouts. Whaaaaat?? Any excuse am I right?
I wanted to explore some fun, simple ways to use champagne. Because what goes better with champagne? That’s right – more champagne!
I’ve never been one to wait for a special occasion to celebrate – I like to live it up a little every day! But, of course, these terrific treats are great for all of your classic champagne occasions: New Year’s, Valentine’s Day, Bridal Showers, ect.
Simply replace the water with champagne the next time you’re whipping up your favorite boxed cake mix. Totally effortless!
Strawberry is my favorite flavor cake mix so that’s what I used – orange would probably be yummy too!
Apparently, you can also add champagne to your frosting if you want to take the flavor to the next level, but I don’t really like mixing alcohol with dairy and stuff like that. I do usually prefer making my own buttercream, but for the sake of keeping things as easy as possible, I grabbed a tub of rainbow chip frosting to top my cupcakes.
And if a cupcake isn’t finished with sprinkles, is it really a cupcake? Rarely.
Pearl sprinkles are the best for these, in my opinion! (The silver ones were always my favorite for decorating Christmas cookies when I was little.) I like them here because they remind me of bubbles!
(I’m sure this goes without saying, but these cupcakes are great with mimosas!)
Alcohol soaked candies have been around for a long time now and champagne gummy bears are quickly gaining popularity on Pinterest and Instagram. They are outstanding, but I thought something even fruitier – like Jolly Rancher gummies – would be excellent as well! Ding, ding, ding!
Just soak your favorite gummy candies in a bowl of bubbly in the fridge overnight to make these tasty treats. Pull them out of any remaining liquid and store them in the fridge afterward to keep them from melting and sticking together. The Jolly Ranchers kept a firmer texture, but both are so yummy!
Speaking of alcoholic confections that have been around forever…
Jell-O shots will always be fun for occasional big parties and such, but they’re not really conducive to a suitable #momlife.
You won’t catch a buzz from this easy refreshment (unless you can consume insane amounts of Jell-O), but it’s a fun goody to enjoy and it’s so easy to match to a party’s theme!
All I did was replace the cold water with champagne in my strawberry Jell-O!
Obviously, my mind goes to strawberries when I’m picking out flavors for my bubbly treats, but this is another one where you can pretty much use whatever flavor you’d like. I imagine it would work quite well with raspberry or peach Jell-O!
Cotton Candy Champagne Cocktails
I couldn’t very well venture into sweet champagne treats without trying the most-popular cotton candy cocktail, now could I?
Fill your glass with cotton candy before filling it with sparkly and watch it transform – it’s a darling little party illusion!
If you like sweeter champagne – this is definitely for you! The cotton candy itself is an adorable way to display the flutes and while I think the cotton candy after taste is delightful, champagne is one of the few things that I can’t drink too much of if it’s too sweet. Is it weird that this sugar-and-spice girl doesn’t like drinking sweet champagne? Then so be it. 😜
