Welcome to my first DIY post! I am so thrilled to start sharing, even more, ways to live colorfully! Making and doing things yourself is the ultimate way to add your own personal flair to your world! 🎀🌈 (It’s also an amazing feeling when someone admires or appreciates something you’ve created yourself 😉).
My projects are fun and colorful, but still simple! I can’t really make a big mess or spent tons of time on any project with two small kids running around. #momlife
The first thing I wanted to think about when deciding on what kind of project to do first was updating/customizing my tools.
I wanted to personalize my gel pens first, though. Because: A) I always have handfuls of colorful gel pens hanging around and B) I knew they’d be the easiest to customize – just take apart, decorate, and reassemble!
I’ve seen countless pencil decorating DIYs using washi tape and thought to myself Hey, I can do some DIY personalized pens like that, too! Then my scrapbook paper caught my eye and 💥💥💥!
These DIY personalized pens are an easy way to spice up those boring ole black and blues you have to use for everything – or make your bright gel pens even more vibrant! You can use any kind of pen you have as long as it has a clear plastic body and can be taken apart and put back together. (This can easily be a Dollar Tree craft!)
You will need:
You can get really creative with your materials. If you don’t have scrapbook paper, print out a cool pattern at home! Printer paper is thinner than scrapbook paper, so it will be easier to get into the pens. Or maybe try using your coloring book pages! Work with what you’ve got!
What to do:
1. Take the ink tube out of your pen.
2. Cut your tape or paper into strips the length of the tube.
3. Wrap a strip of tape or paper around the ink tube length-wise and reassemble your pen.
And in just a few minutes, your pens have gone from blah to ✨ta-dah!✨ These DIY personalized pens are definitely desk top worthy! 😍
