I am was a self-proclaimed product junkie. I love trying new beauty products. However, diapers and clothes for the kids always trump a new shade of lipstick that my husband swears I already have, so I keep a beauty wish list of all the products I’m looking forward to trying. It actually saves a heck of a lot of time; when I can treat myself, I go right to my wish list and know exactly what I’m going to get, instead of spending 30 minutes trying to decide what shade of blush I should try, getting frustrated with my lack of decision-making skills, and leaving empty-handed.

I wanted to share four drugstore products on my beauty wish list because, while I usually don’t have time to get myself to a luxury beauty store, I am constantly popping in and out of grocery stores and the like. Plus, it makes my errands easier when I treat myself – even if it’s just a little bit!

1. {Hair} Not Your Mother’s Plump for Joy Thickening Hair Lifter

Mirror, mirror, on the wall, who has the finest hair of all? I do. And I don’t mean fine as in Dang, she’s fiiiine. I mean fine as in limp, textureless, lifeless. My battle for volume is a constant one.

Not Your Mother’s Plump for Joy Thickening Hair Lifter promises body, strength, “and some ooh laa laa.” It also reportedly creates full, effortless waves after scrunching it through your hair (which is how it’s meant to be applied) and allowing it to air dry – so easy!

I currently use (and love) NYM’s Texturizing Sea Salt Spray, so I’m keen to try another Not Your Mother’s product.

2. {Face/Skin} E.L.F. All Over Color Stick {Persimmon}

I never really got on board the highlight/contour train. I played with it a little – and still do here and there – but it takes more time and effort than I can give to my everyday makeup (I’ve also accepted that I may not quite have that skill). But, boy, did I get excited about strobing! Infinitely easier, way quicker, and – while it looks great with all skin tones – it’s perfect for us “porcelain” ladies!

If you haven’t tried an E.L.F. product yet.. I don’t know what to say to you. Maybe you think there’s no way such a low-cost makeup brand could possibly be any good. But, trust me, it is! Not every product is a hit, but when your average price is $3 (that’s not an official statistic!), I can forgive you for the two products I didn’t like.

Stick formula makes for some pretty convenient application and E.L.F.’s All Over Color Stick is supposed to be more glowy than sparkly (I love KE$HA, that’s just not the look I’m going for while I’m out grocery shopping with my family).

3. {Eyes} NYX Eyebrow Cake Powder

Eyebrows should be easy. Personally, I’m lucky if I can manage to sweep some powder through mine before running out the door. I wish I had time to shape, line, fill and comb those tiny hairs above my eyes every morning, but my sanity is not worth finding (and maintaining) that perfect middle between looking sultry and surprised.

I prefer powder for my eyebrows. It’s far easier to blend and much more natural looking than pencils, gels, creams, etc, etc. I’ve also been hankerin’ to try a wax or other similar product to easily tame those occasional wild hairs that decide to go who whichever way they want to. NYX’s Eyebrow Cake Powder sounds like a great product for those of us short on time and patience for luxury (a.k.a. unnecessary) beauty trends.

4. {Lips} Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter {Creamsicle}

My one requirement for any lip product these days is that it’s easy to wear. I don’t always wear lipstick, but when I do, I’m usually applying it in the car (mirror-usage not guaranteed). Also, because I like more colorful eye makeup, I tend to lean toward pink or nude lip colors.

The orange undertone in this nude is what caught my eye. I love how bright and fun orange lips are, but, again, I prefer to emphasize my eyes. Which is why I’m hot to try Revlon’s Colorburst Lip Butter in Creamsicle. It’s sheer color means it would be easy to pair with all sorts of different looks and a light, creamy formula is essential for summer (or – as we refer to it in Arizona – always).

What products are on your beauty wish list? Have you tried any of these products? I’d love to hear your opinion below!
