No bake cream cheese pie has always been my favorite Christmas dessert.
My mom made this yummy refreshment every year so for me, it just doesn’t quite feel like the holiday season without it.
If you’ve never had or heard of cream cheese pie imagine: classic graham cracker crust, lush cream cheese filling, and your favorite topping/pie filling. Are you drooling yet? I am.
Obviously, the cream cheese filling is the best part. It’s rich and refreshing and requires mixing just four simple ingredients – cream cheese, sweetened condensed milk, lemon juice, and vanilla. (Don’t let the lemon juice throw you – this is not a lemon dessert! The mixture just needs a little somethin’ to cut through the sweetness.)
How you serve this dessert is entirely up to you!
You can pour the mix into a regular-sized pie crust or mini pie crusts – which are great for parties because you can make different pies to suit everyone’s tastes!
You can also let the mix set in a serving dish to make a delicious dessert dip to serve with graham crackers – but let me be honest, I usually end up just scarfing it down with a spoon. 😆
Once you’ve mixed and poured your filling, it just needs to set in the fridge! How simple is that?
Most people top their no bake cream cheese dessert with their favorite pie filling before serving – which is totally optional.
The most popular topping is cherry. That’s what my mom always used so that’s what I tend to have around the holidays (even though I detest actual cherry pie).
My real favorite, though, is strawberry. Especially if I’m making this in the summer!
My grandmother always made blueberry (not a fan, personally), but I’ve also heard of people using blackberry, raspberry, apple – you don’t have to stick with pie filling though. Get creative and use whatever toppings you think would work!
Below is the recipe for the classic no bake cream cheese pie, but the filling is the same for the dessert dip and mini pies (this recipe makes about 8 mini pies, depending on how much you fill them – and you probably won’t need a whole can of pie filling).
