I love beauty! I don't love spending tons of time and money on it.In my quest for simplicity, I'm trying to buy less. That means getting creative and using things I already have around whenever possible. I don't have time for long, extensive routines, either. Expending too much time and effort on a beauty routine makes me feel like I'm wasting an opportunity to check more things off that infinite to-do list. I love beauty! I don’t love spending tons of time and money on it.

In my quest for simplicity, I’m trying to buy less. That means getting creative and using things I already have around whenever possible. I love getting as much use out of one item as I can. It saves my family money and resources, and I enjoy feeling like less of a consumer.

I don’t have time for long, extensive routines, either. Half my brain is always tuned into what my kids are up to; any mom can tell you how precious her time is! And I’m trying to manage my time better and be more productive, so expending too much time and effort on a beauty routine makes me feel like I’m wasting an opportunity to check more things off that infinite to-do list.

I want to help all you other busy ladies stay beautiful while saving time, money, resources, not to mention your sanity. Below are 6 of my favorite, simple beauty tips. Each one is quick, easy, and uses things most of us keep around anyway. Beauty doesn’t have to be complicated or expensive!

Simple Beauty Tip #1:

This is my favorite way to take off my stubborn eye makeup. First, I rub a dab of coconut oil all over my eye area. Then I just wipe it all away! I have yet to meet a makeup product that can stand up to this method // 6 Simple Beauty Tips Every Busy Lady Should Know // BumbleBits.co

This is my favorite way to take off my stubborn eye makeup. First, I rub a dab of coconut oil all over my eye area (yeah, get those sweet raccoon eyes going on). Then I just wipe it all away. I often use a baby wipe because, as a mom of two youngsters, I always have them handy. But a clean damp cloth works just as well! I have yet to meet a makeup product that can stand up to this method. Plus, coconut oil is ultra good for your skin and eyelashes, but I’m sure you already knew that! 😉

On a side note: I got the famous Makeup Eraser cloth as a Christmas gift and have fallen in love with it! It oh-so-gently removes all my messy eye makeup with just water. (Even my 24-hour gel eyeliner! Whaaaat?) It’s so soft and when it gets dirty, I just throw it in the washer to reuse again and again! No more makeup wipes for me! 🙌

Simple Beauty Tip #2:

I've started a collection of my favorite mascara wands. When I find one that I'm fond of, I hang on to it to use again. It's not uncommon for me to find a mascara formula I love with a brush that I hate. Just make sure to clean them really well! // 6 Simple Beauty Tips Every Busy Lady Should Know // BumbleBits.co

I’ve started a collection of my favorite mascara wands. Mascara is my favorite makeup product so I’m pretty particular about my mascara brushes. And, honestly, I really love the classic fiber brushes. I have pretty long lashes myself, but they’re very light and fine. A classic fiber brush gives my eyelashes the density I need and adore. So when I find one that I’m fond of, I hang on to it to use again. It’s not uncommon for me to find a mascara formula I love with a brush that I hate. Just make sure to clean them really well!

You can also use them to groom your eyebrows, comb your eyelashes – even exfoliate your lips!

Simple Beauty Tip #3:

Each winter means the same thing for my hair - static. And tons of it. Not only does my hair defying gravity make styling it difficult, but when it's finally done, it's flyaway city. I've learned, though, that lotion is an excellent way of controlling all that without weighing it down. When my hair is starting to get a little too crazy, I rub a little lotion into my hands and lightly smooth out my hair. A little bit goes a long way with this one, so don't use too much. You just need enough to moisturize your hands! // 6 Simple Beauty Tips Every Busy Lady Should Know // BumbleBits.co

Simple Beauty Tip #4:

When I first heard of using baby powder between coats of mascara to thicken and lengthen one's eyelashes, I was pretty skeptical. But, I decided to give it a go. I was blown away (and asked multiple times if my eyelashes were fake)! Just apply a coat of mascara like normal. Then, dip a Q-Tip in some baby powder, run it along your eyelashes, and apply another coat of mascara. Way easier than false lashes and much quicker! // 6 Simple Beauty Tips Every Busy Lady Should Know // BumbleBits.co

When I first heard of using baby powder between coats of mascara to thicken and lengthen one’s eyelashes, I was pretty skeptical. But, like I mentioned before, I love mascara, and I’m all about getting great lashes without falsies – because ain’t nobody got time for that. So I decided to give it a go. And let me tell you, I was blown away (and asked multiple times if my eyelashes were fake)!

Just apply a coat of mascara like normal. Then, dip a Q-Tip (or an old mascara wand, wink, wink) in some baby powder, run it along your eyelashes, and apply another coat of mascara. Way easier than false lashes and much quicker! Win!

Simple Beauty Tip #5:

When I shave with baby oil, my legs are silky and smooth right out of the shower! // 6 Simple Beauty Tips Every Busy Lady Should Know // BumbleBits.co

I know many ladies these days shave their legs with conditioner. I’ve done this before and I would probably be really into it, but my conditioner is precious to me! My hair has very specific conditioning needs. I put time and effort into deciding on the right conditioner for my extra fine hair, so I don’t want to waste it on shaving my legs.

Baby oil to the rescue! We all know it’s important to moisturize freshly shaved skin. When I shave with baby oil, my legs are silky and smooth right out of the shower!

Simple Beauty Tip #6:

I like conditioning my eyelashes with Vaseline. For whatever reason, I seem to notice much quicker results in my lashes with Vaseline. Like, next day results. Before I go to bed, I rub some Vaseline into my clean eyelashes, and as soon as the next morning, my eyelashes look shinier, darker, and thicker! // 6 Simple Beauty Tips Every Busy Lady Should Know // BumbleBits.co

Can you tell I’m a little obsessed with my eyelashes? LOL. I mentioned earlier that coconut oil is great for your skin and eyelashes, but I also like conditioning my eyelashes with Vaseline. For whatever reason, I seem to notice much quicker results in my lashes with Vaseline. Like, next day results. Before I go to bed, I rub some Vaseline into my clean eyelashes, and as soon as the next morning, my eyelashes look shinier, darker, and thicker! Use this routine with the baby powder technique and you’ll be able to take on the world with one bat of your phenomenal, flirty lashes!
